FULL TIME TELECOMMUNICATOR/DISPATCHER

The Ward County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a full time Dispatcher.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be 18 years of age or older

· Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent

· Must hold a current valid Texas Driver’s License

· Must pass extensive background investigation, psychological screening, physical and urinalysis drug screening

· Must be a dependable honest person

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø Ability to work independently

Ø Be detailed oriented

Ø Ability to multi-task

Ø Have a clear/understandable radio/telephone speaking voice

Ø Good listening & communication skills, both written & verbally

Ø Ability to work rotating 12 hour shifts, nights/weekends/holidays

Ø Ability to establish & maintain good working relationship

Ø Knowledge of general office procedures

Ø Will be required to hold Dispatch & Jailer License within a year of employment
